Stress is not the cause of acne but it triggers flare-ups. Stress increases the production of cortisol which causes the sebaceous glands to produce excess oil.

Antibiotics reduce the effects of oral contraceptives
Some doctors believe that when oral contraceptives are combined with antibiotics, it reduces the effects of birth control pills and increase the risk of pregnancy. So, the women should first consult the doctor before combining the drugs which can harm the new born baby.
Certain foods cause acne
Some studies have not found any connection between the diet and acne till now. Foods such as French fries, chocolates, pizza or other greasy foods do not cause acne. Eating a balanced diet is good for acne and if any person get acne by eating these foods then it is best for them just to avoid such foods.

Acne is not a life-threatening disease and it is true that acne worsens the looks of the people and leads to permanent physical scars. It is not considered as a simple cosmetic disease.
